Professor Henry Houlden

Consultant and Professor of Clinical Neurology and Neurogenetics

Professor Henry Houlden is a Professor in Clinical Neurology & Clinical lead of the Neurogenetics Laboratory and Clinical Service. He co-leads for the Genomics England Clinical Interpretation Partnership (GeCIP) and sits on the Genomics England committee representing rare diseases. He leads an active research programme and has published 300+ peer reviewed original research papers including Nature, AJHG and Brain. He has raised over £2m external research funding in the last four years in genetic and clinical research including ataxia, neuromuscular disease, brain channelopathies and Mitochondrial Disease.
