Roy Pascal Naja
I completed a PhD in Human Genetics at McGill University, Montreal in 2008. Following this I trained as an HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist working in pre-implantation genetics at University College London for 6 years. I am currently a senior Clinical Scientist working at the Neurogenetics Laboratory, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. My main role involves providing a molecular genetic diagnosis of mitochondrial disorders for the London Mitochondrial Highly Specialised Service. The London service comprises several health care professionals including medical consultants, clinical fellows, specialist nurses, scientists and physiotherapists. It is a specialised multidisciplinary team that aims to provide an effective diagnosis and care for patients suffering from mitochondrial disorders. I am also the laboratory deputy Quality Manager, involved in maintaining quality standards to ensure our continuous Medical Laboratory accreditation to International Standard ISO15189.
