
Jo Lowndes
Jo is a Principal Genetic Counsellor who has worked as a Genetic Counsellor since 2004 and as part of the team in the Department of Clinical Genetics in Oxford since 2005. Jo obtained a postgraduate degree (MSc) in Genetic Counselling from Manchester University in 2004. Whilst she specializes in working with patients and families with Mitochondrial and Genetic Eye Conditions, Jo also sees patients with a wide range of genetic conditions, including hereditary cancers. More recently Jo has worked as part of the Oxford Genomic Medicine Centre team helping to run the 100,000 Genomes Project locally, and delivering Genomics education to other NHS colleagues and health professionals, both locally and nationally.
