Advocacy and Information Officer

After graduating from University, Katie has worked as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with SEN needs and then at Action for Carers, Surrey for 4 and 1/2 years supporting young adult carers manage their caring roles, to enable them to achieve successful transition into adulthood. Katie is now working as the Advocacy and Information Officer at Muscular Dystrophy UK, working in the Neuromuscular adult and paediatric clinics. The role includes meeting with patients, setting up social support groups to enable peer support for them and work with professionals to challenge any decisions on their behalf.
