
Prof Janice Holton
Honorary Consultant and Professor in Neuropathology
Janice Holton is Professor in Neuropathology at the UCL Institute of Neurology and Honorary Consultant Neuropathologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN). She gained her PhD from the University of Southampton and became a Member of the Royal College of Pathologists in 1998.
She is responsible for reporting the muscle biopsies from patients at the NHNN and organises the weekly muscle biopsy multi-disciplinary team meeting at which all biopsies are discussed with the neurology team. Janice has published over 50 papers in the field of muscle pathology and has been a member of several meetings to establish consensus criteria for the interpretation of muscle biopsies.
She is an active member of the British Neuropathological Society and has held the offices of Treasurer and Programme Secretary. She is now Editor-in-Chief for Neuropathology and Applied Neurobiology, the journal of the Society.
