Dr Robyn Labrum
Clinical Scientist
I joined the London mitochondrial multidisciplinary team in 2017 as a principal clinical scientist primarily responsible for the interpretation and authorisation of molecular genetic diagnostic mitochondrial reports. I completed my PhD in 2003 at Wits University in South Africa and apart from a 2 year postdoctoral contract at St George’s Hospital, London, have spent my career in the Neurogenetics laboratory at Queen Square. I became a HCPC registered clinical scientist in 2006 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2016. I am also the Deputy Head and Training Officer for the laboratory. Together with several other health care professionals that make up the London Service, we aim to provide effective diagnosis and care for patients suffering from mitochondrial disorders.
