Louise Germain
I qualified as a nurse in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Nottingham. From there, I attained valuable experience working on a busy trauma and orthopaedic ward at the Royal Derby Hospital before moving to London to work in an accident and emergency department.
I joined the Neuromuscular Team at The National Hospital in 2016 as a research nurse after gaining previous research experience on an Alzheimer’s dementia study.
Currently I work within the neuromuscular clinics, recruiting patients for Mitochondrial and Channelopathy cohort studies. As part of the mitochondrial team, I work closely with the clinicians recruiting patients to the national database collaboration with Newcastle MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases and I am also involved in clinical trials with patients who have Duchene Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
