Roseanne Jones

I am a Genetic Technologist working as part of the NCG Mitochondrial Diagnostic Service. I work within the molecular genetic team aiming to provide a genetic diagnosis for patients clinically affected by mitochondrial disorders.I work alongside other molecular technicians, clinical scientists and biomedical scientists who are specialised in areas such as histochemistry and biochemistry. The collaboration with the Mitochondrial research group also provides research-diagnostic interface which is important to develop new techniques and technologies to improve the diagnostic service.

I am currently a qualified Biomedical Scientist, but have always had a special interest in genetics. I enjoy working within the multidisciplinary team to help establish a genetic diagnosis for many patients. This also helps to guide genetic and reproductive counselling to families who are affected by mitochondrial disorders.
