Will completed an integrated master’s degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Sheffield in 2015. He specialised mainly in genetics and worked at the University of Helsinki during his final year on a project in Neurogenomics. He worked in scientific research for a couple years before moving to work as a healthcare assistant on an inpatient ward. He also volunteers at a crisis help line in his spare time.
As a Nursing assistant, Will helps patients and their families feel welcomed and comfortable when they come into clinic and takes specimen samples when required. Will’s role also consists of the delivery of the New Genomic Medicine service where he informs patients about new genetic tests, such as Whole Genome Sequencing.
